Surrender a Pet to H.A.R.T.

H.A.R.T has an open door policy and accepts surrendered pets. Read below to understand the different types of surrenders, and review any costs associated.

Personal Surrenders:

Personal surrenders are animals someone has owned or cared for, for 7 days or more.

Personal Surrendered Animal Fees:

These animals have an owner. HART has guidelines when taking in personal surrendered pets. HART reserves the right to refuse a personal surrender animal.

HART Animal Return:

If an adopter needs to return an animal after the two week trial period, HART will take the animal back with a surrender fee.

Returned Animal Fee - $25.00

Stray Surrenders:

Stray surrenders are animals that have been found outside of the contracted impound area. Stray surrenders do not require a fee but any donation is appreciated.

Impound animals are animals that are running at large in an area that is contracted with Animal Control. Animal control will pick up animal if found in a contracted area.
