Welcome!
In 1987, a group of citizens concerned with the welfare of animals in
our area, gathered at a kitchen table at 126 Birchridge Drive in
Brainerd and developed what is now the Heartland Animal Rescue Team,
known as H.A.R.T. Starting with just a handful of volunteers, we now
have 8 paid staff, room for about 40 dogs and 30 cats, and an
unbelievable show of support from the community. HART continues to grow
every year, as there is always a tremendous need to help those who can't
help themselves.

Don't let the "dog days" of
summer turn tragic!

Every year,
thousands of animals die needlessly when they are left in the
car while their owners run into the store "for just a minute."
